When to use

You searched the full wedding phrase; you want head-table language; you are past the are we even inviting them fight and into placement.

When not to

Still building the invite list from scratch → wedding guest list. Only need budget % → budget pages. Craft-store seating display shopping → not us.

Assumptions

Two partners / two sides optional fields — not required. Max party size is whatever you configure; we do not enforce venue fire code.

Worked examples

Input: Head table of 6 (couple + wedding party); 10 rounds of 8 for everyone else.

Output: party seated up front; remaining guests distributed.

Some venues prefer sweetheart (2) + party mixed into rounds — label whatever you actually booked.

Input: One table reserved friends from Portland.

Output: eight seats held even before names finalize.

Placeholder rows beat empty confusion.

How it works

  1. Guests → tables (including a labeled head/sweetheart table if you want) → assign → export.
  2. Use notes for needs aisle seat or with grandparents.

Common traps

  • Wedding party dates sometimes need seats near the head table — ask them; do not assume.
  • Vendor meals are often off-chart; confirm with the venue so you do not seat the DJ in a guest chair.
  • Place cards vs chart — you may need both; the maker covers the chart data.
  • Changing the room layout last week — regenerate seats; do not tape over an old PDF in a panic without updating meals.
