Wedding budget planner

A wedding budget planner is the calm step before deposits stack up. Set a total, decide category caps, export something you can stick in a folder labeled money. This page uses the same percentage engine as the calculator and spreadsheet, with planner-shaped framing: phases of not booked yet vs quote in hand. If you searched this hoping to hire a human planner, that is a different industry. We will not route your phone number to one.

Estimate only — not a vendor quote. Confirm with written quotes before you sign.

Seating tools help you arrange guests — not a venue floor-plan CAD service or a wedding planner contract.

When to use — and when not to

When to use

Zero bookings yet; you want caps before touring venues; you are splitting costs with family and need a shared snapshot.

When not to

Local pack results for wedding planner near me — hire humans elsewhere. You only need seating charts → seating tools. You want day-of timeline planning — out of scope.

Assumptions

Same defaults (asOf: 2026-07). Planner = planning your dollars, not employing a wedding planner.

Worked examples

Input: $40,000 total; venue already quoted $16,000 (40%).

Output: lock venue at 40%, compress other defaults to fit.

The planner view is for tradeoffs after the first big quote.

Input: Family contributes $10,000 tagged food only.

Output: catering dollars show that floor; remaining categories fund from the couple's share.

Track gift constraints in notes — the math tool will not police earmarks unless you set the %.

How it works

  1. Enter total and optional guests.
  2. Adjust category %.
  3. Mark categories mentally (or in notes) as researching vs quoted.
  4. Export CSV.
  5. When a real quote arrives, replace that category's dollars and renorm % if you want.

Common traps

  • Planner apps with CRM are for professionals; couples often only need caps + a sheet.
  • Local pack / budget of wedding planner searches mix hiring intent — we do not take that job.
  • Planning without a headcount makes catering % fictional — wire in guest list reality.
  • Pretty dashboards do not pay deposits; dates on quotes do.
