Rectangle wedding table layouts (long banquet tables) need different capacity math than rounds of eight. Set long tables, assign guests along them, export for the venue. Still not CAD — just who sits where on the rectangles you actually booked.

When to use — and when not to

When to use

Your venue is all long tables; you searched rectangle layout; family-style dinner is the plan.

When not to

All rounds → wedding table layout page. Ceremony rows → ceremony page.

Assumptions

Treat each rectangle as a table object with a higher seat count you configure. No automatic place-setting geometry.

Worked examples

Input: 3 longs × 24 seats; 70 guests.

Output: two full-ish tables + one sparse; or rebalance.

Sparse longs look odd — ask if the venue can shorten a table.

Input: king's table of 16 + rounds for overflow.

Output: mixed layout labeled; CSV clear.

Mixed rooms are fine — label honestly.

How it works

  1. Create tables labeled as long / rectangle with real seat counts.
  2. Assign guests (consider conversation groups along a line).
  3. Export CSV.
  4. Confirm with venue that those rectangles fit the room.

Common traps

  • Long tables amplify feuds — do not seat enemies within elbow range.
  • Centerpieces can block faces; that is décor, not our engine.
  • Kids at the end of a long table need an adult nearby.
  • CPC may be thin on this long-tail — still worth a clear page.
