When to use

RSVPs are still moving; you know you will rearrange twice; you hate locked files.

When not to

You only need a final print tonight and names are frozen — printable page is enough.

Assumptions

Everything on the board stays editable until you walk away. Export versions are your history.

Worked examples

Input: three late yeses; one table full.

Output: bump two flexible friends; new CSV.

Editable beats reprinting Sharpied circles.

Input: change rounds of 8 to mix of 8 and 10.

Output: capacities updated; pool rechecked.

Confirm the venue can actually place those tables.

How it works

  1. Start from the template board.
  2. Assign seats.
  3. When someone changes RSVP, move them and re-export.
  4. Keep dated filenames (seating-v2, seating-v3).

Common traps

  • Editable in Canva still may not track meal counts — keep data here.
  • Too many editors = no master. One owner.
  • Editing without re-exporting leaves the venue on v1.
  • Do not duplicate the couple across tables for vibes.
