You are planning without a full-service planner; you want control of the file; you searched DIY on purpose.

When not to

You want to purchase an acrylic seating display — shop elsewhere; make the data here. Classroom DIY worksheets → wrong site.

Assumptions

DIY = couple-owned data entry. We do not ship physical charts.

Worked examples

Input: backyard wedding; couple seats 55 guests Sunday night.

Output: CSV + printed A–Z for a foam board.

The foam board is your craft; the CSV is the source of truth.

Input: no planner; parents helping on FaceTime.

Output: one screen share session; one export.

DIY still needs one owner.

How it works

  1. Build the guest list.
  2. DIY the table assignments on the board.
  3. Export CSV / print for the venue.
  4. Optionally copy names onto whatever display you bought.

Common traps

  • DIY Pinterest results are often craft projects — different intent from assignment tools.
  • Hand-lettering from an outdated list is how Table 3 gets the wrong cousin.
  • DIY does not mean skip the venue's deadline.
  • Mirror / acrylic shopping is out of scope on purpose.
